Potting bench

Soil, drainage, and calm repots

Bring a root-bound plant or choose a new pot in-store. We keep the bench tidy, the mixes chunky where aroids need air, and the advice free of miracle claims.

What a potting visit includes

We check roots, drainage holes, and whether the current pot is simply decorative. Many plants thrive longer in nursery plastic nested inside a ceramic sleeve—especially through damp Cork winters when soil stays wet. When a full repot is useful, we size up gradually and leave room for watering without swampy bases.

Chunky houseplant mixes, grit, and standard potting soil are available by the bag or for bench use. We wipe leaves lightly after work and talk through the first two weeks of settling so you are not surprised by a temporary sulk.

Weekend mornings fill quickly. Use the visit form with a preferred date if you want dedicated bench time for a large plant or several pots at once.

Common questions before you bring a plant in

Should every plant be moved into ceramic immediately?

Not always. Decorative pots without drainage need careful watering or a nursery liner. We help you choose which approach fits your watering habit and the plant’s thirst.

Do you sell pots without a plant?

Yes—terracotta, matte ceramics, and a few hanging options. Sizes change with deliveries; we can note your measurements if you are matching a shelf or radiator ledge.

Can I watch or learn while you pot?

Gladly. The bench is open for conversation. We demonstrate drainage layers and watering depth, then hand you a short care reminder for home.
