Our story
Independent greenery in Cork city centre
We opened on Oliver Plunkett Street to sit among walkers, café regulars, and people who pass the same shopfront each week. The name Gals Pesetas Plants nods to the domain stem and to the idea of small everyday currency—plants as reachable companions rather than luxury trophies.
Our team keeps the stock list short on purpose. Fewer species means we know how they behave in Irish flats: how calatheas sulk near radiators, how monsteras stretch toward bright windows, how snake plants forgive missed weekends.
Deliveries arrive midweek. We quarantine new plants briefly, check undersides of leaves, and only then move them to the public shelves. The potting bench stays visible so customers can see mixes and ask questions while we work.
How we work
Clear care, no miracle claims
We buy from growers who label cultivars clearly and ship with care. When something fails in transit, we refuse to put stressed plants on sale. Neighbours drop in for saucer replacements, soil top-ups, and honest second opinions on yellowing leaves.
